To Get the Best Use and Attract the Most Fish, Run Your WaterLights Dusk to Dawn Every Night.
Running it daily keeps algae, barnacles, etc. attaching itself to the bulb, thus no need to remove the light from the water for cleaning. Also, most important, bait and small fish will become accustom to coming to the area around the light in the evening this will attract the big fish. Just follow the installation
instructions below.
To install the light for the best and most long lasting use, please review the following:
1. Locate a well ventilated area to mount the WaterLights control box. The control box needs be mounted in an area where it can sense dawn and dusk. It can be mounted under a cover or eve as long as the light is adequate to turn the light off during the day.
2. The WaterLights control box should be located close to a GFCI power source. Use of an extension cord to power a WaterLights is not recommended. Do not plug the WaterLights control box in until all other installation is complete.
3. Mount the WaterLights control box securely.
4. Select the WaterLights bulb location and depth. NOTE: minimum depth for the bulb should be at least 4 feet from the surface of the water. This prevents the bulb from being damaged by average boat traffic. (If the bulb is to be in an area where large boat or barge traffic will go over it, the depth of the bulb will need to be deep enough to avoid being struck.) Determine the average depth of the selected location and subtract the distance from the surface (at least 4 ft. is recommended) giving you the distance between the bulb and the weight. (Total depth of water - Depth of bulb = Distance between the weight and the bulb)
5. Adjust the weight to the desired depth. Place the small piece of cable protector hose at the spot where the weight will be attached. This protects the cable from chafing.
6. Place the weight to the desired depth. Attach the weight with the zip-ties supplied to the cable. Be sure to tighten the zip-ties and check for slippage.
7. Deploy the weight and WaterLights bulb in the desired location. Make sure you always deploy the weight FIRST and allow the weight to pull the WaterLights bulb slowly into the proper location to prevent bulb breakage!!! DO NOT THROW IT INTO THE WATER!
8. Once the bulb is in position plug WaterLights into a GFCI protected outlet. You may need to press the reset button on the GFCI Plug when you first plug it in. (If power to the GFCI plug is ever turned off, it may be necessary to reset the plug.) Once night comes, your light will glow bright and beautiful. Note: Although your light comes with its own GFCI plug attached to it, we recommended that the power source also be GFCI protected due to its proximity to water and the outdoors. Never operate WaterLights without GFCI protection, it’s dangerous and it will void your warranty if you do.
9. Do not lift WaterLights bulb out of the water while plugged in. Only remove or move the bulb when it has been unplugged and allowed to cool if it has been on.
